Angel Investing in ClimateTech
Anyone can invest in ClimateTech startups. In this episode, Yoann Berno and I discuss how to get in the game
I've been angel investing in ClimateTech startups for the last few years.
I started investing because I wanted to know what it was like to have skin in the game. While I’ve spent years sourcing deals for investors related to the future of food, I was always working on behalf of someone else.
Investing my own personal wealth has been a learning curve. There is no doubt that startup investing is risky, but big risk can lead to big rewards and that strategy and mindset is what Yoann Berno and I discuss in this episode on angel investing.
You might remember that a few months ago Yoann interviewed me for his podcast, Climate Insiders, on how I put together deals between startups and investors. The conversation went so well that he invited me back to interview him about his backstory.
So, while today’s episode primarily focuses on Yoann, I wanted to share it on my channels too because we cover a lot of important ground that demystifies what angel investing is and what it actually takes to get in the game (hint: it’s not as much money as you might think).
The Course: Invest in ClimateTech Like A VC
Yoann hosts a 2-day online course called Investing in Climate Tech like a VC. I took it and even though I’ve been investing for quite some time, I found his frameworks to be simple and useful. I would recommend the course for anyone that wants to get into angel investing.
As a listener of this podcast, you can get 20% off the course using the code FRIENDS20. You’ll also get access to an online community with other like-minded angel investors. This is a great way to start seeing deal flow.
