🔬 Visiting the Basque Culinary Center
San Sebastian has the most Michelin stars per capita. It's also a hot spot for agrifood innovation.
In the fall, I made a pilgrimage to San Sebastian, an agrifood hotspot that I’ve been dying to visit. My trip focused on networking and connecting with key players in the local ecosystem.
Having local boots on the ground makes it easier to follow what’s happening and build partnerships. All of my connections go into a rolodex, which I nurture and tap on behalf of my investor clients.
One of the best parts of my ecosystem tour was visiting the Basque Culinary Center, a knowledge center for food and gastronomy innovation.
Everyone I have ever met who has worked, studied, or been affiliated with the BCC has been absolutely amazing. It’s a magnet for brilliant people looking at food in all kinds of cool and interesting ways.
So, when I was invited to speak about my work at the BCC my answer was a resounding YES!
I delivered a talk about developing innovative business models including how I structured my business model as an ecosystem developer.
Afterwards, I was buzzing with inspiration and good energy so I hopped on Instagram live to repeat it and share it with you.
You can watch the presentation here.

PPS: In addition to being a hot spot for innovation, San Sebastian has the most Michelin stars per capita. I ate SO well on this ecosystem visit. This part of the country is known as Green Spain because there are 8 national parks side by side. It was jaw droppingly beautiful and I would highly recommend the region to anyone!
