the #1 rule for making introductions
increase your social capital and make your contacts looks good
When introducing one contact in your network to another, there is a golden rule
It’s called the double-opt in method.
Basically before you make an introduction, you ask both parties if they are open to the connection.
If and only if both people say yes do you send the email.
This is really important!
When you introduce two people without their permission, you are essentially volunteering other people’s time.
This is a huge no-no.
Not only does this put your contact in an awkward position if they don’t have time or desire to answer, but it also decreases your social capital.
This is just one concrete example of what you will learn in Strategic Networking, my new 4-week course where I will teach the best tips, tricks, and strategies for creating authentic business connections that lead to personal and professional development.
As a professional networker, business matchmaker, and community developer, the curreny I deal in is relationships and my expertise is in opening doors and bringing people together. This course will give you the keys to build, maintain, and use a high quality network to get what you want.
It’s content that I wish they taught in business schools.
